The Dragons have a horror record in the capital. Not only could they get the mental heebie jeebies in regards to their poor record, could it also start the usual whisperings of whether the Dragons have the ticker once the regular season ends. This game will give us a great indication of the Dragons' mindset approaching the finals, order Celexa online no prescription. But I say the Canberra curse to continue.

Roosters v Titans, Monday 7:00pm, SFS
The Titans are starting to look like a threat and the Roosters seem to have hit a bit of a slump. The announcement by Mat Rogers that his seasons are over after this one should motivate the Titans for a good away win.
The Sure Thing: Melbourne but what is the point now.
The Roughy: The Bunnies out of sympathy.

The NRL should have a criteria that says a ref cannot be a current or former police officer. This will allow a much better possibility that the ref does not tend towards power tripping. Harrigan, Archer are two that come to mind. Unfortunately they have built a culture around themselves, a culture they have brought with them from their copper days. Mutual respect will never occur under this culture. Rugby is such a dull game to watch, but the reffing is fantastic. They blew the whistle, they tell you what happened. They will blow 100 penalties if they are warranted. They have no issue with whether the game is free-flowing or not. That’s not their job. The players respect them for that. I wish the Rugby culture of reffing to find its way into Rugby League. One day.
Penrith – I’m still on the bus – although I find myself stretching out a bit these days.
Newcastle – The Knights have been going ok and I think the usual favours for the Broncos wont eventuate.
New Zealand – I think the whole of Bondi will be there (they are mostly NZ’ers.. they trekked out to Penrith a few weeks back I know)
Cronulla – I like what I saw from their win last week. I think this could be hardest of games for Melbourne to get up for – and they will pay the price for it.
North Queensland – No Thurston. Certainties.
Canberra – They have the ammunition (and the crowd) to keep the trend going. No certainties – who is against St George, but they are well capable.
Parramatta – Just a feeling. I think Parra’s go forward will put a lot of pressure on Farah and Marshall. Errors usually follow.
Sydney City – Tough place to play on a Monday night for an interstate team – although the Cowboys did make a nonsense of the theory.

..just dont send your half-time congratulations Shaun.

I think it is safe to do so now. Excellent first half. The second was scrappy as all hell and a little bit of a worry even if well ahead.
Actually poor second halves have been a feature of teams well ahead this season. Wonder if there is a general lack of mental toughness in the comp?

The 3rd straight week where team 8 will be stuck on 26 points.
On paper, Souths are still in it. Even if Parra beat Tigers this weekend, Souths would easily jump back over Parra (on for/against) should they win their clash next Friday night. Stakes won’t be any higher next Friday.
Those outside the 8 now rely on Brisbane losing at least one game against New Zealand or Canberra. If that happens the mark will be 28pts on a countback.
13 more NRL games this weekend and next, before Penrith play again. Better stock the fridge.

Bad luck Shaun but I do have to say, had Parra won on the back of penalty for a clear dropped ball by Mateo – Shayne Hayne would have been in line for yet another sacking.
Not sure how Burt missed that one really other than the pressure of the moment. Great technique can often override a slightly bad execution. A tense body can cause tense muscles to twitch in mysterious ways.
Parra are still in it on paper, but not too sure about on grass.

Tigers were the better side. Eels only woke up when it was too late which pretty much has been their season.
Yes, there is a light at the top of the hill but I suspect it is the embers of the season rather than a spark of hope.

I hope that next TV rights deals, the idea of a 4:00pm replay on Sunday is kicked out of the game.
It is a ridiculous idea that only serves Nine’s interested and not the game.
Far better to have say the Sunday Footy Show start at 2:00pm and then lead into the game with post game analysis going to 5:00pm. The other codes do it so why is league sticking this outdated idea?
Also, everyone watching the game on TV would have realised that Burt missed the goal well before he kicked it just be noticing that it was close to 6:00pm. A major spoiler.

If Jamie Packer was as smart as his old man, he would look into splitting the rights for the Sunday game. Reap the benefits of the live game on Foxtel, as well as the free-to-air ratings with the delayed version on Nine. As we all realise, he’s not as smart as his old man.
I haven’t heard anyone at all (else) that thinks Penrith can close the 85 for and against margin with the Saints? One team winning big and the other losing can close the gap pretty fast though.
