Cowboys – Shaun your intense hopefulness must have forgotten that the Pattern says Cowboys. The Pattern has the truest guide of all this year. Only Canberra and Gold Coast have been successful the week after beating the Dragons to defy the Great P.
Gold Coast – I think teams are getting a feel for how to combat Hayne and Carty is one of those on the ball. While Hayne has a great fend, he has trouble changing hands when someone attacks from his ball-carrying side. Dowse the Hayne plane, and take-off is aborted.
Melbourne – I think the Storm are well used to sides hating them. I think they enjoy it. I think they still want to avenge 40-0.
Tigers – Wont be the spectacle we wanted to see. Wests have become the grinders of the comp, while Souths have plenty out through injury and suspension. Expect Benji’s kicking to become even worse on the strange shaped SCG. This means they will get maybe 3-4 more tries than Souths but only win by a couple of points.
Sharks – I think it’s payback time for Finchy’s mob. There was a fair enough argument that they should have claimed victory last week. The media thought so anyway. Nothing more certain.
Newcastle – Two teams desperate to avoid an early mad Monday. The Knights to last another week.
Roosters – I see the Dragons forcing themselves to play the Roosters game. That’s going to lead to errors. Mistakes will be vital in this one.

I just spent the most painfull 90 minutes of my season so far in Wests Ashfield sitting inbetween my torn family.
I had tipped the Tigers and wore my Tigers jacket but had the red & green on underneath and put a few bob on the Bunnies!
So… I was the real winner on the night.
In the washup, looking at what the other teams did, I believe the Bunnies needed this one so well done boys… gets tougher from here on in without Sutton now as well as the rest of the no-plays.

Indeed one of the best games of the year even if a little scratchy at times.
And while the Bunnies may have been lucky with a pass in that final play, they deserved the win. With the injury list they had (and looks like to be added to) it was a great performance.
As someone noted elsewhere, the Tigers had an arrogance about them as if all they had to do to win was turn up.

Well, today’s game while a thriller doesn’t tell us too much. The Roosters were off their game a little yet still had a chance.
The Dragons were back to their consistent best but I still think they are beatable. If the Roosters had played as against the Eels with the same luck it may have been a different game.
Looking at the ladder, the eight is almost sorted. The Warriors, Broncos and Sea Eagles need to win 2 of their final 4 games to grab a spot. They may only need 1 of 4 depending if the Eels and Knights fall apart over the next few weeks.

Ray Warren made some crazy statements Friday night then followed up with another today. He said on Friday after the Titans win that Parramatta would struggle to make the eight even with 30 points given their poor for-and-against. He then said the Gold Coast had sown up a home semi-final (although the Gold Coast are now only on 28 points …. so going back to his first statement, they haven’t even secured a top8 spot yet ?!??)
Today after the Dragons win, again on the back of umpteen ugly,ugly milked-penalties (when-oh-when are the refs going to put a stop to this cancer on the game), Rabbs said that it appears the Dragons will again be minor premiers. Well there are 4 weeks to go, and Penrith a chance at cutting the margin to 2-points tomorrow.
No wonder old Rabbs went bust on the punt – the bookies used to let him bet on the Melbourne Cup as the horses headed into the straight, as they knew Ray would likely put his money on the whoever was the leader at the time.
