The New Zealand Warriors draw for 2010.

In 2010 the Warriors will…

…struggle. They did buy Brett Seymour but he is not really the solution to the half back problem. I just can’t see how the Warriors will compete against the better sides. Sure, they have a good forward pack but the team lacks direction.

Mannering takes over as skipper from Steve Price which is a bit of a surprise. It will be interesting to see who Price handles the loss of the captiancy and also what may be his last season in the NRL. He always has been class but I can see him calling it a day this year.

If the Warriors dig deep they may cause the odd upset at Mt Smart but most teams will not fear the trip as they may have in past seasons. Keep the Warriors faithful keep their expectations low and they may just enjoy the season.

Damn the dubious interpretations of the rules that allow teams to score tries right on the final siren. But thank the footy gods that Soward J had a small but fatal amount of chewy on his boot which made him miss the conversion thus ending the 27th Charity Shield in a draw.
I didn’t stay for Man Of The Match but would be surprised if it went to anyone other than Talanoa.
Bunnies retain in a 26-all draw.

Just watched the match. A pretty good game for a trial. Defense seemed to lapse as critical times for both sides.

Darius Boyd looked good for the Dragons. And the Bunnies forward gave them plenty of good field position. But the Bunnies will need to improve their fifth tackle options. They looked lost at times even though Sutton and Sandow had some good moments.
