…which was how Our Russ summed up the league game between Souths and the Leeds Rhinos held in that well known rugby league heartland, Jacksonville, Florida.
The Bun-buns got done 26-24 but by most accounts it seems like it was a good game. The US reaction also seemed positive. This chap reckons it was a success. And this report is quite good from a Jacksonville USAnian perspective and even has some photos from the game.
Pay no mind to the limited league imagination of certain News Ltd hacks who think peddling rumours and slagging the opposition paper is journalism, Our Russ and Holmesy were not out to change the sports landscape in the US. They are content to try and carve out a niche in the US and the idea should be commended for they way they went about organizing the game. Also $39,000 worth of Bunnies gear was sold. Cardinal red and myrtle green are the in fashion for Florida this season.
Ideas sometimes do not necessarily translate into dollars and time will sort that out. But their ideas are a welcome in the often short-sighted and stagnant world of rugby league administration.

Rebecca Wilson can always be relied upon for some nonsense. That’s some weird shit right there.
It seemed like a well-organised affair which these things are often not, with modest goals.
Aww Gilly’s walked off for the last time (in Real ricket.) Getting a bit teary. *sniff*

I can’t remember if last year there was a Telecrap campaign against Souths. Maybe Russ and Holmes a Court have pissed someone off in Murdoch Empire and they have launched Wilson at them.
Sorta like being whipped with a wet noodle really.
If the NRL follow ups and clubs make it an annual event to play a game or two in the US, they could carve out a nice little niche market.
