Well at least it wasn’t a rent boy in a public toilet.
The former rugby league star Andrew Johns has admitted that he was arrested for possession of an ecstasy tablet in London, but has blamed an “unknown person” for pushing it in his pocket at a notorious inner-city bar.
Johns has nonetheless described himself as a “very foolish person” and vowed to repair the damage done to his reputation.
“I was having such a good time, seeing it was the last day before I flew home,” Johns said in a statement.
“I stupidly forget (sic) about the tablet and instead of getting rid of it I left myself in a situation I soon deeply regretted.
It’s really time to end the bullshit surrounding drugs, recreational drugs and doping in sport. Here’s the lowdown, when you see your athlete de jour going down hard for recreational drug use, it’s usually a sign that there is something more going on on the doping front.
There is a connection between recreational drug use amongst athletes and performance enhancing doping. You can argue just which is the gateway, a bit of blow leads to EPO, or EPO leads to blow, but one does surely lead to the other.

I’ve heard that on the grapevine that it is all Brian Smith’s fault.

Actually, if that guy isn’t the worst coach in Rugby League I don’t know who is….talk about overrated, dunno how he continues to get work, though I suspect Newcastle is his last shot.
