I was quite impressed with the newboyos.
I was thinking given the aquads a 3-0 loss was on the cards yet we should have won it.
Another Kalc moment?
Why isn’t Nicky Carle with a GOOD O/S club. How good is he?

Indeed — I don’t think any of them did themselves much harm with that effort, though Brad Jones was underdone. When it comes to goalies I think Arnie really should go with first-choicers: Clint Bolton or even Ante or Vuko rather than bench goalies. I’m starting to notice a pattern.
Nicky Carle really does need some Euro football — his energy and ambition were welcome in spades in the last half but gawd did he stuff that cross up. Of course, his departure would really ravage the Jets which gives me mixed feelings as an FC fan

Snooty Uruguayans?!?…you really need to get a grip. It’s people like you that give Australians a bad name when it comes to sportsmanship. Not only that but making people like myself, who have always supported Australia, root for the opposition…WHOEVER that may be. Australia, much as I hate to say it because I was born here…is increasingly showing how poorly it behaves when it loses and how arrogant when it wins. Maybe people like yourself should not judge the action of a few and apply it to a nation…imagine what people would think of us if they compared our nations behaviour with that displayed at a bulldogs match!! I know I may be over-reacting to a relatively harmless comment meant in good humour but I am truly tired of this behaviour against not only Uruguay but any one else who is unlucky enough to encounter Australia in an international competition.

Snooty I tell you what I hate about the beautiful game.Divers. and the Uros are as good as the Eyties at it.
It is an absolute disgrace and the sooner FIFA cracks odwn hard on this practice the better.

I’m sorry Aus-Uru but Uruguay’s reputation as footballing aristocracy preceeds it; and AUF’s behaviour towards Soccer Australia in 2001, and their gamesmanship with FFA over the 2005 Montevideo leg kickoff have won them few Australian admirers as you’d well know — to say nothing of the tunnel incident or ‘divine right’. It takes two to tango, I’m afraid.
I blog from an Australian perspective and I’m sorry if my offhand comment offended you. I don’t wish to appear an arrogant Australia booster, I know how ugly that looks, and I employ your policy toward the Aussie Cricket team. Australian football fans may gripe about being hard done by, but I don’t think your claims of ‘sore loserism’ are warranted in this case — Los Celestes won fair and square and took the game away from us for nearly 2/3rds of the match.
