It has been a busy week. So busy in fact all I all saw of the City/Country game was the first few minutes. So I got nothing on that game. You can read the reports here and here.
But I got something on round 8. Analysis and tips for the weekend. Hopefully no more teams are going to be decimated by the flu thus skewing my tipping.
Dragons v Panthers, Friday 7:30pm Oki Jubilee Stadium
Oh joy for the tipster. Two of the more woeful teams at the moment meet up. You could forgive the Panthers slightly as we found out later that 5 players had The Bug! But what excuse did the Dragons have for their performance against the Roosters? The Panthers can play good football if they put their inconsistency at bay. Which I ‘m hoping they do tonight.
Broncos v Rabbitohs, Friday 7:30pm Suncorp Stadium
The Bunnies are worth thinking about for this game. And it is another test after their heart-breaking loss to the Warriors last week. The Broncos deserve favouritism at home and the head says tip the Broncos. The heart has told the head to piss off and gone to the TAB to put a tenner on the Bunnies.
Warriors v Sharks, Saturday 5:30pm Mt Smart Stadium
You have to say that with 5 Sharkies backing up after the City/Country the Warriors have this one. They will be feeling pretty good after their last moment win against the Bunnies. I like the Warriors at home anyway and the travelling will be too much for Cronulla.
West Tigers v Storm, Saturday 7:30pm Central Coast Stadium
Just down the road this one though not sure if I am going just yet. However the Storm must lose sometime but do the Tigers have what it takes? Again the head and heart are divided. So much so that they aren’t even talking to each other. I’ve put the Tigers on a multi with the Bunnies.
Eels v Roosters, Saturday 7:30pm Parramatta Stadium
You got no hope Greeny! Personal taunts out of the way, the Eels still have quite a few players down with the flu. The team that takes the field could be quite different from the one that is named. The Roosters have their first win but it was against an awful Dragons team. The head and heart have reconciled and the Eels to win at home.
Raiders v Sea Eagles, Sunday 2:00pm Canberra Stadium
The Raiders are always a little better at home and they have a win under their belts. But that was against terrible Panthers. The Sea Eagles pushed the Cowboys hard in their loss. They have the form on the board and are far strong than the Raiders. Sea Beagles to win.
Bulldogs v Knights, Sunday 3:00pm Tesltra Stadium
Folkes will have put a rocket up the Doggies at training this week. Even though the Knights have been doing well I don’t think they’ll win this one.
Titans v Cowboys, Monday 7:00pm Carrara Stadium
With Campbell out injured, the Titans will miss his unpredictability playing off Prince. But the clash between Prince and Thurston will be a great one. Thurston is likely to be the QLD halfback but Prince will want to show the selectors what he can do. I’m getting the feeling that the Titans will be on of those teams you don’t want to play at home. Good value also at just over $2.00 if you got a lazy few dollars.

Being top of the office comp gave me the esprit d’corp to pick some roughies: souths, titans and Wests.
Plus Knights of course, and I’ll be at Telstra on Sunday to see the victory live.

22 mins: Lockyer throws the pass and Hodges stumbles into touch. HA HA. Its life’s little pleasures that make it worth living …

What a weird game. Not exciting but still intense. And the Bunnies almost stole the game at the end.
Be tears at Esmerelda’s house tonight.
