AFL Round 5 – tip experiments

April 23rd, 2007 by Five · 3 Comments

One week is barely over before the next begins, but it’s Anzac Day on Wednesday, which means my favourite football day of the year!!

Here are my tips, and odds.

(78% / $1.40) Bombers v Magpies ($2.80 / 22%)
(81% / $1.55) Power v Saints ($2.30 / 19%)
(10% / $4.50) Tigers v Eagles ($1.16 / 90%)
(36% / $1.85) Blues v Lions ($1.85 / 64%)
(95% / $1.10) Swans v Demons ($5.75 / 5%)
(37% / $2.25) Hawks v Bulldogs ($1.58 / 62%)
(85% / $1.24) Cats v Kangaroos ($3.60 / 15%)
(56% / $1.85) Dockers v Crows ($1.85 / 44%)

I’m going for the Bombers, because they are on fire and I would anyway; Port, because they are on the rise and seem to be good away from home this year; the Eagles (no possibility of a Tigers upset); the Lions, because Carlton will be knackered and the Lions are embarrassed from this week; the Swans, the Hawks and the Crows (the last was very hard to decide). My upset – the Roos over the Cats. They are due for a win, and have a good record against the Cats, even at the feared Skilled Stadium. This means I agree with punters on six of the eight.
