Super 14 Round 9

March 30th, 2007 by Shaun · 2 Comments

When I was a lad, Australian rugby was on the up. Not quite the world beaters but an impressive, exciting team to watch. Even the 2003 version I saw in the World Cup final was good value. But now, hard to bring myself to watch an Aussie Super 14 team given how dreary it has become. Even though I love league, I like to see Australian rugby doing well. But it never will to it outgrows the internecine battles that seem to be a constant plague now.

The fact that the Force are over the other side of the country and are having a good season with a Kiwi coach might tell us something.

Onto the tips.

Highlanders v Cheetahs, Friday Invercargill 5:35pm
Force v Sharks, Friday Perth 9:05pm
Hurricanes v Bulls, Saturday Wellington 3:30pm
Chiefs v Blues, Saturday Hamilton 5:35pm
Waratahs v Crusaders, Saturday Sydney 7:40pm
Lions v Brumbies, Johannesburg Sunday 1am

Why are there byes in Super 14? The point of byes I thought was to deal with an uneven number of teams?

Poor babies get too tired after the 13 mins of running they do per game?

Not sure on the one. Maybe a rugby type is reading and can explain.
