A-League Finals Round 1

January 22nd, 2007 by Shaun · 1 Comment

Four teams remain to fight out for the A-League title. They are Melbourne, Adelaide, Newcastle and Sydney. The match ups are Sydney v Newcastle at Aussie Stadium on the 26th and Adelaide v Melbourne on the 28th at Hindmarsh Stadium.

So what does it all mean and who will emerge victorious? I haven’t the foggiest. But for those with a clue, the comments are yours to discuss the first round of the A-League finals.

Melbourne were clearly the best side of the competition yet this peculiar Australian system of semi-finals and finals and their current poor form means they might miss out.
Adelaide must be favourites to beat Melbourne and Newcastle to beat Sydney with very good crowds at the four stadiums.
I expect the Newcastle record to be beaten.
Newcastle are the form side and would be favourites to beat firstly Melbourne and then Adelaide.
